Articles on: Choose the Right AI Model

Which AI model should I use?

Atlabs gives you many top-tier AI models in one place, so you never manage separate accounts or API keys. The trick isn't finding "the best" model; there isn't one. Each model is best at a different job. This guide matches the model to what you're trying to make: video, images, and lip sync. You can always switch models with a click; see [How do I switch AI models in a workflow?]

💡 Rule of thumb: draft cheap, finish rich. Explore an idea on a fast, low-cost model, then re-run your favourite scenes on a higher-quality one.

Image models (Create Image)

Model

Best for

Good to know

Flux 2 Pro

Portrait photorealism, product and brand shots, safe all-round default

Strong reference control and real-world lighting

Imagen 4

The most photorealistic look, people, landscapes, hero images

Reads like a real photo; limited for image-to-image edits

Nano Banana 2

Preserves fine texture; reach for it when the image is the final product

Nano Banana Lite

The lightest of the three, for quick iteration

Seedream 5

Text rendering, 4K, product shots, high-volume batches

Fast and cheap at scale; strong on legible in-image text

Gemini Omni Flash

Fast multimodal image generation and edits

[EDITOR: confirm exact capabilities and where it appears]

Z-Image Turbo

Fast, cheap drafts, thumbnails, high-volume batches

Generates in about a second, ideal for iteration

Quick picks by goal:

  • The same character across many images → Nano Banana 2 (or Flux 2 Pro)
  • Highest-fidelity or 4K hero image → Nano Banana Pro or Imagen 4
  • Legible text inside an image → Seedream 5 (or Nano Banana 2)
  • Clean product or brand shot → Flux 2 Pro or Seedream 5
  • Lots of quick variations to choose from → Z-Image Turbo or Nano Banana Lite

💡 Tip: Generate a still in Create Image first, then animate it in Image to Video or Motion Control. A strong starting frame makes for a stronger video.

The Create Image dropdown may include still more options (e.g. Flux Kontext for surgical prompt-based edits, GPT Image, Ideogram for text-heavy designs, older Flux/SDXL). If those are live, slot them into the table. Also confirm where Gemini Omni Flash belongs, image generation, editing, or a multimodal tool, and which surfaces expose the Nano Banana 2 / Lite / Pro tiers.

Lip-sync models

  • Kids' rhyme and educational videos → Hailuo 2.3 or Seedance 2.0 for a bright animated look, and Nano Banana to keep a mascot consistent. See [How do I make kids' rhyme and educational videos?]
  • Faith and devotional videos → Kling 3.0 or Veo 3.1 for calm, cinematic realism. See [How do I make faith and devotional videos (Christian, Islamic, Hindu, and more)?]
  • UGC product ads → Kling 3.0 for polished, text-legible ad shots; Seedance 2.0 if you're compositing your product from reference images.

A few things worth knowing

  • Not every model appears in every tool. Video models live in the Motion tab and in Image to Video; image models are in Create Image; lip-sync models are in Lip Sync. The dropdown in each tool shows what's available there.
  • Some models are gated by plan. Higher-tier models may require a paid plan.
  • Cost varies by model, length, and resolution, and you always see the live estimate before you generate. See [How do credits work on Atlabs?]
