Kids series: the same characters in every episode

Atlabs lets you build a kids' cartoon or song series where the same characters, places, and props appear in every episode. You create the cast once in episode 1, and reuse it from the Character Library in every episode after that. Your hero looks the same in episode 1 and episode 20.

Which workflow to use

  • Stories and cartoon episodes:

Animated Video: https://app.atlabs.ai/create/animated-video (three steps: Script, Cast, Screenplay)
Script to Video: https://app.atlabs.ai/create/script-to-video (four steps: Script, Style, Cast, Screenplay).

  • Song episodes:

Kids Music Video: https://app.atlabs.ai/create/kids-music-video (four steps: Music, Set Style, Concepts, Finalise).

Episode 1: Create the cast

  1. Script or Music. Paste the episode script (one paragraph per scene works best), or upload the song.
  2. Cast or Finalise. Atlabs lists the characters, locations, and objects it found. Click a character card to open Select Actor, which has three tabs:
    • Create New (AI): Atlabs generates the character from its name, age, gender, ethnicity (or animal type), Visual Appearance, Clothing and Actor Voice, and shows a character sheet from several angles. For a series, write a detailed Visual Appearance and outfit, such as "red fox cub, ginger fur, cream belly, teal knitted vest".

    • Character Library: pick a character you have already made, or one of the ready-made actors.

    • Upload: use your channel's existing mascot or character image. Choose Keep Uploaded Look if the image already matches your video's style, or Match Video Style to convert it. See Upload your own character.

  1. Locations and objects. Keep or edit the recurring places (the treehouse, the classroom) and props (a favourite toy, a school bag). Create New (AI-generated), pick from the character library, or upload your own object/location image.

  1. Style. Pick a visual style, such as 3D Cartoon or Flat 2D Modern, and note it down. Use the same style for every episode.
  2. Generate. In Animated Video, review the Screenplay (characters are tagged with @ in each shot), then click Finalise. In Kids Music Video, pick a concept and click Finalise Video.

Episodes 2 onwards: reuse the cast

  1. Start a new project with the same workflow and the same visual style.
  2. At the cast step, click a character card and open the Character Library tab. Your characters from episode 1 are saved there. Pick each one.
  3. Recreate or reuse the same locations and objects.

Tips for a series

  • Reuse your saved characters from Character Library instead of describing them again. A saved reference keeps results far more consistent than rewriting the description each time.
  • Keep the same visual style in every episode. Style and cast together are what make a series look consistent.
  • Editing a saved character changes it for future episodes only. Episodes you have already made stay as they are.
