Put yourself in a music video: your face, your voice, lip-synced
Atlabs turns a song you recorded into a music video where you are the one singing it. Upload your track, choose the Performance video type, and add a photo of yourself at the Cast step. Atlabs places you in every scene and lip-syncs your face to your own vocals. You can add more people for a duet or a band, or let an AI character sing the track instead.
Try it here: https://app.atlabs.ai/create/music-video
Best for: singers and rappers with their own recordings, bands, duets, and artists who want to appear in their videos without a film shoot.
Before you start
- Your song as an .mp3 or .wav file up to 200MB, or a SoundCloud link. A Suno link can be pasted straight in. Songs made with other tools, such as Mureka or ElevenLabs Music, can be uploaded as a file.
- A clear, well-lit, front-facing photo of each performer. Blurry, angled or dark photos give less consistent results.
- Permission from anyone whose face you use. Your own face is fine. For anyone else, you need their consent.
Step 1: Music
- Open Workflows → Music Video. Click Upload your music track and add an .mp3 or .wav file up to 200MB. You can also paste a Suno (unlocked version) or SoundCloud link and click Extract Music, or pick one of the Sample Music Files.
Made your song on Suno?
- Open your song in Suno.
- Click Unlock Audio.
- Click Download Audio and upload the file here.
Once the audio is unlocked, you can also paste the Suno song link directly.
If you have no song, 'Generate Music' Mini App: https://app.atlabs.ai/music

- In Trim your track, select the part of the song to use. Only the selected part is used in your video.
- Choose the Video type: Narrative (No Lip Sync, a story told across cinematic scenes) or Performance (Lip Sync, Premium, a lip-synced performance video of the artist).
- Optional: in the Storyline box, describe the story you want and introduce your cast. Leave it blank and Atlabs writes one from your track. Click Confirm.
- For this video, choose Performance.

- Atlabs analyses the track and shows what it heard: Language, Mood, Genre and BPM. If anything is wrong, click the pencil icon on that card and correct it before you move on.

Step 2: Style
- Pick the Aspect Ratio: 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, 16:9 for YouTube, or 1:1.
- Pick the Video Style: AI Video (Recommended) or AI Storyboard (still images).
- Pick a Visual Style from the grid. How close you stay to your photo is set at the Cast step, with Keep Uploaded Look or Match Video Style.

Step 3: Concepts
- Under Choose your concept, Atlabs shows several concepts generated from your song's tempo, mood and genre, each with a title, a short story and preview frames.
- Select one, or click the pencil icon on a concept to edit it. To write your own, click Describe your concept.

Step 4: Cast
- Atlabs generates the characters, objects and locations for your video. Review, swap or delete them: everything on this screen appears in your final video. Use Add Character or Add Object to add more.

For each character, open its card and choose how to set it up:
- AI-generated character (Create New): Atlabs fills in the details, such as name, age, gender, ethnicity, Visual Appearance, clothing and voice. Change anything you want and click Save. The more detail you give in Visual Appearance, the more consistent the character looks in every scene. Also add the character's height in Visual Appearance, for example "about 97 cm tall". Height keeps the character's proportions right next to other characters and objects, whether it is a human, an animal or any other character.
- Character Library: pick a character you made before, or one of the ready-made actors.
- Upload your own image: upload a reference image of your character, then choose Match Video Style or Keep Uploaded Look:
- Match Video Style converts your image into the video's visual style. Use it when your image is a real photo or a different art style from your video.
- Keep Uploaded Look uses your image as it is. Use it when your image is already in the same visual style as your video.
This choice keeps the uploaded character consistent with the visual style of the video.

For this video:
- Click the main character card, choose Upload, add your photo and give the character your name.
- Choose Keep Uploaded Look to stay close to the photo, or Match Video Style to redraw you in the chosen style.
- For a duet or a band, add a character for each performer with Add New Character and upload a separate photo for each.
Locations and objects work the same way: create them with AI, pick them from the library, or upload your own image.
Finalise Video
- Click Finalise Video. In How would you like to start?, choose:
- Storyboard: a still image for every scene, with no motion or lip sync yet.
- Video Preview: the first 25 seconds with full motion (and lip sync where your video has it).
- Full Video: every scene with complete motion (and lip sync where your video has it).
- Each option shows its credit cost. Click Generate. Start with Video Preview to check the lip sync, then generate the full video.
- You can close the window once generation starts. Your video keeps generating and appears in My Stories.

Using an AI singer instead of your face
At the Cast step, open the character card and use Create New instead of Upload, with a description such as "female pop singer, short silver hair, denim jacket". The same character sings in every scene. To fine-tune a single scene later, open it in Edit Video and use the Lip Sync tab.
Good to know
- Performance videos with lip sync are a premium option and use more credits: about 120 to 130 per minute, against 80 to 90 without lip sync.
- Lip sync works best on close and medium shots where the face is clearly visible.
- If a scene has more than one person and only one should sing, tag the singer with @ in the Lip Sync prompt. See Lip Sync With Multiple Characters In One Scene.
