Consistent characters, objects and locations

Atlabs keeps characters, objects, and locations looking the same in every scene of a video and across videos. You set up each character in one of three ways: Create New (Atlabs generates it with AI), Character Library (pick a saved or ready-made character), or Upload (use your own image). Atlabs then uses that reference whenever the character, prop, or place appears, so faces, outfits, proportions, and settings don't drift between shots.

Three ways to add a character

Click a character card at the cast step (or Add New Character) to open Select Actor. It has three tabs:

  1. Create New (AI). Atlabs generates the character from the details you give it: first and last name, age, gender, ethnicity (or animal type), Visual Appearance, Clothing, and Actor Voice. You get a character sheet showing the character from several angles. Write a detailed Visual Appearance (hair, face, build, colours). More detail gives more consistent results.

  1. Character Library. Pick a character you have already made, or one of the ready-made actors. Search by name, or filter by age, gender, ethnicity, and style. This is the fastest way to reuse the same character in your next video or episode.

  1. Upload. Use your own image, such as a photo of yourself, your brand mascot or a character you already use on your channel. Add the name, gender, age, and role, then choose how Atlabs treats the image:
    • Keep Uploaded Look uses the image as it is. Pick this when the image already matches your video's style, for example, a 3D cartoon render in a 3D cartoon video.
    • Match Video Style adapts the character to your video's style. Pick this to convert a real photo into a cartoon, for example.

Match Video Style on an image that already matches your style can change the face, colours, or proportions. If an uploaded character looks different from your image, check this choice first. See Upload your own character.

Objects and locations

  • Objects: props and products that need to look identical each time, such as a toy, a guitar or a logo on a package.
  • Locations: settings that recur, such as a classroom, a treehouse, or a church.

Atlabs creates both from your song or script at the cast step. You can edit them, delete them, or add your own.

Set up your cast

  1. Start any workflow (Music Video, Kids Music Video, Script to Video, or Animated Video). At the cast step, Atlabs lists the characters, objects, and locations it found in your song or script.
  2. Open each character and keep the AI version, swap in one from Character Library, or upload your own.
  3. Generate your video. Every scene uses the saved references.

Frequently Asked Questions

Several characters in one video: Add a separate character for each person or creature and give each a clear name. Use the same names in your script or prompts, and tag a character with @ in a scene prompt to place them in that scene. For lip sync with more than one character in a scene, tag only the one who is speaking or singing.

If a scene drifts, open, open the scene and regenerate its image from the Image tab, and try changing the image model. There's no need to regenerate the whole video.

Using the same cast in your next video. Characters you create are saved automatically. In a new project, open the character card, go to the Character Library tab and pick your saved character. Use the same visual style as before.
