Music videos for independent artists, bands and beginners
Atlabs makes a full music video from your finished track, with no film crew, no animator and no editing software. You upload the song, choose a story video or a lip-synced performance, and Atlabs builds every scene in the style you pick, from realistic and cinematic to anime and 3D cartoon. Bands can put each member's face in the video.
Try it here: https://app.atlabs.ai/create/music-video
Best for: independent artists, bands, producers and first-time music video makers working on a small budget.
What you need
- Your track as an .mp3 or .wav up to 200MB, or a Suno or SoundCloud link.
- Optional: a clear front-facing photo of each band member, if you want to appear in the video.
Step 1: Music
- Open Workflows → Music Video. Click Upload your music track and add an .mp3 or .wav file up to 200MB. You can also paste a Suno or SoundCloud link and click Extract Music, or pick one of the Sample Music Files.
- No song yet? Make one with Generate Music (app.atlabs.ai/music).
Made your song on Suno?
- Open your song in Suno.
- Click Unlock Audio.
- Click Download Audio and upload the file here.
Once the audio is unlocked, you can also paste the Suno song link directly.

- In Trim your track, select the part of the song to use. Only the selected part is used in your video.
- Choose the Video type: Narrative (No Lip Sync, a story told across cinematic scenes) or Performance (Lip Sync, Premium, a lip-synced performance video of the artist).
- Optional: in the Storyline box, describe the story you want and introduce your cast. Leave it blank and Atlabs writes one from your track. Click Confirm.

- Atlabs analyses the track and shows what it heard: Language, Mood, Genre and BPM. If anything is wrong, click the pencil icon on that card and correct it before you move on.

Step 2: Style
- Pick the Aspect Ratio: 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, 16:9 for YouTube, or 1:1.
- Pick the Video Style: AI Video (Recommended) or AI Storyboard (still images).
- Pick a Visual Style from the grid. Realistic gives a filmed look. 3D Cartoon, Claymation or an anime style give an animated video without hiring an animator.

Step 3: Concepts
- Under Choose your concept, Atlabs shows several concepts generated from your song's tempo, mood and genre, each with a title, a short story and preview frames.
- Select one, or click the pencil icon on a concept to edit it. To write your own, click Describe your concept. If you have a clear idea, write it in one or two lines: who, where, and what changes by the end.

Step 4: Cast
- Atlabs generates the characters, objects and locations for your video. Review, swap or delete them: everything on this screen appears in your final video. Use Add Character or Add Object to add more.

For each character, open its card and choose how to set it up:
- AI-generated character (Create New): Atlabs fills in the details, such as name, age, gender, ethnicity, Visual Appearance, clothing and voice. Change anything you want and click Save. The more detail you give in Visual Appearance, the more consistent the character looks in every scene. Also add the character's height in Visual Appearance, for example "about 97 cm tall". Height keeps the character's proportions right next to other characters and objects, whether it is a human, an animal or any other character.
- Character Library: pick a character you made before, or one of the ready-made actors.
- Upload your own image: upload a reference image of your character, then choose Match Video Style or Keep Uploaded Look:
- Match Video Style converts your image into the video's visual style. Use it when your image is a real photo or a different art style from your video.
- Keep Uploaded Look uses your image as it is. Use it when your image is already in the same visual style as your video.
This choice keeps the uploaded character consistent with the visual style of the video.

For this video:
- For each band member, click a character card, choose Upload, add their photo and name them. Or let Atlabs create the characters with Create New.
Locations and objects work the same way: create them with AI, pick them from the library, or upload your own image.
Finalise Video
- Click Finalise Video. In How would you like to start?, choose:
- Storyboard: a still image for every scene, with no motion or lip sync yet.
- Video Preview: the first 25 seconds with full motion (and lip sync where your video has it).
- Full Video: every scene with complete motion (and lip sync where your video has it).
- Each option shows its credit cost. Click Generate.
- You can close the window once generation starts. Your video keeps generating and appears in My Stories.

Edit and release
- Click Edit Video to change any scene, add lyric captions from Captions in the top bar, then click Export to download, or publish with YouTube under Other Actions.

Working on a small budget
- A minute of video costs about 80 to 90 credits without lip sync and about 120 to 130 with lip sync. Narrative videos cost less than Performance videos.
- Music Video workflows start on the Pro plan.
- Make a Storyboard first and add motion only when every scene is right.
Tips for beginners
- Start with a song under three minutes and the Video Preview option.
- Choose the concept that matches the feeling of the chorus. That is the part people remember.
FAQ
What do musicians use to make AI music videos?
Many use a music video tool that starts from the finished track. In Atlabs that is the Music Video workflow: Music, Style, Concepts and Cast.
Can a band make a music video without a film crew?
Yes. Choose Performance in step 1 and upload one photo per member at step 4 (Cast).
Is Atlabs good for beginners?
Yes. The workflow has four steps and Atlabs writes the concepts for you. You can change anything before generating.
Do I own the music video?
Yes, including for commercial release, as long as you have the rights to the song.
