📝 Script to Video: Full Workflow

Script to Video is a 4-step guided workflow (Script → Style → Cast → Screenplay) that turns any written script into a fully produced video with consistent characters, voiceover, and visuals across every scene. Open it from Workflows → Script to Video.

💡 Tip: Each paragraph becomes one scene. Break your script into clear paragraphs for the best results.

📝 Step 1: Adding Your Script

In Step 1, on the Create your video from a script screen, you have several ways to start:

• Paste or type your script directly into the text box. No finished script yet? Simply describe the story you want to tell.
• Click AI Script Writer to generate a script from an idea.
• Click any Suggested Topics card below the box as a starting point. Use the refresh icon to load new ones.
• Already have a screenplay? Paste it into the same box. Atlabs detects it, fills in your scenes in the screenplay step.
• For best results, organize the script into clear paragraphs; each paragraph becomes a scene. You can review and refine the scenes, shots, and dialogue in Step 4 before generating the video.

Before you move on, set two things below the text box:

• Language: sets the voiceover language.
• Aspect ratio: 16:9 for YouTube/desktop, 9:16 for TikTok/Reels/Shorts, 1:1 for Instagram feed.

Then click Continue.

🚨 Changing the aspect ratio after generation requires the Reframe Video tool, so set it correctly up front.

If your scenes don't match your script as expected, make sure each distinct idea has its own paragraph. The AI Script Writer output can be refined by adding context about tone, genre, and audience.

🎨 Step 2: Choose Your Style

In Step 2, you control how your video looks. This is what sets Script to Video apart from preset workflows like Animated Video: here the visual style is yours to pick.

• Choose a video style: AI Video (recommended for the most creative output), AI Storyboard, or Upload your own media to every scene.
• Select a visual style from the grid, such as Realistic, 3D Cartoon, Flat 2D Modern, Anime, or Storyboard.
• Toggle Custom Styles to define your own visual direction beyond the presets.

Click Continue to move on to your cast.

👥 Step 3: Finalise Your Cast

In Step 3, define the narrator voice and create the characters, objects and locations that appear consistently throughout the video.

• Select a Country Accent and Narrator Voice from the dropdowns.
• For each auto-detected character, click "Click to Edit" and Save to create AI Characters. You can also change the filled-in details: name, age, gender, ethnicity, a detailed visual appearance description (hair, face, build), clothing, and actor voice settings.
• Similarly, click "Click to Edit" and Save to create AI Locations and Objects. You can also upload your own photo or create with a prompt.
• You can create new characters or objects from scratch, pick from the Characters Library, or
• Upload a reference image of your character and use it throughout the video. Make sure to choose from 'Match Video style' or 'Keep uploaded look'.
• There’s no limit on the number of custom characters. Add as many as your script needs.

The more detail you provide in Visual Appearance, the more consistent the character will look across scenes. The same goes for objects and locations.

💳 Step 4: Review Your Screenplay

In Step 4, Atlabs turns your script into a scene-by-scene screenplay, so you can check how every moment is staged before you spend credits on visuals.

• Each scene shows its Location Type (Exterior/Interior), Location, and Time of Day.
• Inside each scene, you'll find individual SHOT descriptions and DIALOGUE blocks (character name, line, and delivery tone).
• Add or remove shots and dialogue within any scene to fine-tune pacing and staging.

🚨 Note: The DIALOGUE blocks are only available in this screenplay step, before you generate. To change a character’s line after your video is generated, open the scene and use the Audio panel to make changes to the audio/voiceovers.

📹 Finalise Video: Generate Options & Credit Costs

Once all 4 steps are set up, click the Finalise Video button to choose from three output types.

1. Storyboard: Generate the still images/visuals for your video first. Then generate motions and lip-syncs scene by scene.
2. Preview Video: Generate the first 25 seconds with full motion and lip-sync to check that it aligns with your vision.
3. Full Video: generate everything end-to-end (visuals, motions, and lip-syncs for all the scenes).

💡Tip:

• Use Storyboard first to validate your scenes, especially for longer or complex videos.
• You can close the window once generation starts. Your video keeps generating in the background. Come back anytime and find it in My Stories.

📹 Script to Video: Storyboard Output

Atlabs crafts your characters first ("Crafting your characters…"), then builds each scene with that character appearing consistently. The storyboard has the same layout as Idea to Video, with Edit Video, Export, Translate, Music, Captions, and Characters in the top bar. Motion is generated in the background if you choose Preview Video or Full Video.

• If a character looks different across scenes, click Characters in the top bar to reapply consistency.
• If a scene doesn't match your script, edit the image prompt in the Visual tab.
