Animated Video turns any text prompt or script into a fully animated video with AI-generated characters, scenes, and motion. It uses the same 3-step wizard as other Atlabs workflows; the difference is that the visual style defaults to animation, giving you stylized output like 3D Cartoon, Flat 2D Modern, Anime, or Storyboard instead of realistic visuals.

Step 1: Enter your Script

Write or paste your script, or type a prompt and use the AI Script Writer to generate one. You can also pick from Suggested Scripts for inspiration - these rotate when you click the refresh icon. Include the story, characters, actions, style, and any dialogue or lyrics you want in the video. For a series, describe the same character consistently in each part and reuse the character from your Library when available.

If you have a screenplay, paste it here and Atlabs will automatically fill in your data in Step 3: 'Screenplay.' Set your language from the dropdown and click 'Continue.'

Step 2: Cast

• You can choose the Narrator's voice and accent from the drop-down for your video.
• You will see characters, locations and objects extracted from your script.
• If you would like an AI-generated character, click and save the character with already populated data (which is editable).
• You can also upload your own character images. (Make sure to select: Match Video style/Keep uploaded look) depending on your video's visual style.
• Once everything is set. Click on 'Continue.'

Step 3: Review the Screenplay

• Based on your inputs in Step 1 and Step 2, Atlabs generates a detailed screenplay for your video.
• You can review the location, visual shot, and dialogue scene by scene. These are all editable and can be changed from the drop-down.
• Next, click "Finalise". Atlabs gives you three options: Storyboard (all the images for each scene), Preview Video (the first 20 seconds of the video), and Full Video.
• You can choose any of these, and each uses a different number of credits. You can also switch the image and motion models from the Atlabs defaults.

Storyboard Overview: Edit your Scenes

• Click "Edit Video" to review each scene.
• Use the Edit Image tab to change a scene's image. Editing creates a new still image that becomes the starting frame; it does not preserve the previous motion automatically.
• To animate the edited image, open the scene's Motion tab and generate motion. For a scene that needs lip sync, open Lip Sync, select Omnihuman 1.5, write a prompt (optionally tag a character with @charactername), and click Apply Lip Sync.
• Edit "Captions" from the top bar to update the font, size, and position.
• Add "Music" from the top bar. You can switch it off, change it, or upload your own music file.
• To download, click "Export" and select the resolution. The video will be downloaded to your desktop and emailed to you.

Tips

• Animated Video is ideal for educational content, explainers, kids' content, and storytelling where realistic visuals aren't needed.
• Characters are rendered in the animation style you choose or choose for the workflow directly - 3D Cartoon gives the most expressive results, while Flat 2D Modern works well for clean, corporate-friendly animation.
• Use Generate Storyboard first to preview how your characters and scenes look before committing to full generation.
• Multiple characters, each with their own voice: add every character in Step 2 (Cast) and give each one a voice. In any scene, tag the speaking character in the Lip Sync tab and only that character’s lips move. Characters stay consistent across every scene, and there’s no limit on how many you can add.
