Long videos and full animated episodes
Atlabs makes animated videos and full YouTube episodes of up to 20 minutes in one project, with the same characters, locations and objects from the first scene to the last. You build the cast once, check every scene as a still image, and only then add motion and lip sync. That order keeps a long episode consistent and stops you from spending credits on scenes you would redo.
Try it here: https://app.atlabs.ai/create/script-to-video
Best for: full-length cartoon episodes, long story videos, kids series episodes, and long music videos.
Before you start
- A script for a story or episode. In Script to Video, each paragraph becomes one scene, so split the script into clear paragraphs.
- Enough credits. About 80 to 90 credits per minute of finished video without lip sync, and about 120 to 130 with lip sync. You always see the exact cost before you click Generate. See How many credits a video costs?
- The longest video one project can make depends on your plan: Lite 2 minutes, Pro 5, Plus 10 and Max 20.
These steps use Script to Video because it lets you pick the visual style. Animated Video works too, but it has only three steps (Script, Cast, Screenplay) and no style step. For a song, use Music Video (Music, Style, Concepts, Cast).
Step 1: Script
- Open Workflows → Script to Video. Paste your script, or describe the story and click AI Script Writer.
- Set the Language and the Aspect ratio (16:9 for YouTube). Changing the aspect ratio later needs the Reframe Video tool, so set it now. Click Continue.

Step 2: Style
- Choose a video style: AI Video, AI Storyboard, or upload your own media to every scene.
- Pick one visual style, for example, 3D Cartoon or Flat 2D Modern. It applies to every scene, so keep it for the whole series. Click Continue.

Step 3: Cast
- Select a Country Accent and Narrator Voice.
- Atlabs lists the characters, locations and objects it found in your script. Review, swap, or delete them: everything on this screen appears in your final video.

For each character, choose how to set it up:
- AI-generated character: click Click to Edit, check the details Atlabs filled in (name, age, gender, ethnicity, Visual Appearance, clothing and actor voice), change anything you want, and click Save. The more detail you give in Visual Appearance, such as "red fox cub, ginger fur, cream belly, teal knitted vest", the more consistent the character looks across a long video. Also add the character's height in Visual Appearance, for example "about 97 cm tall". Height keeps the character's proportions right next to other characters and objects, whether it is a human, an animal or any other character.
- Character Library: pick a character you made before, or one of the ready-made actors.
- Upload your own image: upload a reference image of your character, then choose Match Video Style or Keep Uploaded Look:
- Match Video Style converts your image into the video's visual style. Use it when your image is a real photo or a different art style from your video.
- Keep Uploaded Look uses your image as it is. Use it when your image is already in the same visual style as your video.
This choice keeps the uploaded character consistent with the visual style of the video.
Locations and objects work the same way: create them with AI or upload your own photo.

Step 4: Screenplay
- Check each scene's location, SHOT descriptions and DIALOGUE lines. Characters are tagged with @ in each shot, so Atlabs knows who appears where.
- Dialogue can only be edited here, before you generate.

Finalise Video: choose Storyboard
- Click Finalise Video. In How would you like to start?, choose Storyboard and click Generate. Atlabs makes a still image for every scene, with no motion or lip sync yet. For long videos, this is the best way to start.
- The other two options: Video Preview generates the first 25 seconds with full motion and lip sync, and Full Video generates every scene with complete motion and lip sync. Each option shows its credit cost before you generate.

If you chose Storyboard: add motion to all scenes
This step is only for the Storyboard option, which gives still images with no motion yet. If you chose Video Preview, only the first 25 seconds are generated: click Select Scenes to Generate Video under the preview to finish the rest. If you chose Full Video, motion and lip sync are already done, so you can skip this step.
- Check every still image first and fix any scene in its Visual tab. A still image is much cheaper to fix than a scene with motion.
- Under the video preview on the right, click Select Scenes to Generate Motion.

- Keep Select All Shots ticked, or untick it and pick only the shots you want.
- Pick a Video Model (or keep Automatic) and a Resolution, then click Generate Motion. Scenes with a tagged speaking character get lip sync in the same pass.

Making a series of 10 or more episodes
Characters you create are saved to the Character Library. For episode 2 onwards, start a new Script to Video project with the same visual style. At the Cast step, click each character card and pick the character from the Character Library tab instead of describing it again. Reuse the same locations and objects too. See Kids series: the same characters in every episode.

Good to know
- Video Preview generates the first 25 seconds with full motion and lip sync. Use it to test the look before a long run.
- If a character looks different in one scene, click Characters in the storyboard top bar to reapply consistency.
- Editing a saved character changes it for future episodes only. Finished episodes stay as they are.
- Need more than 20 minutes? Make several videos and join them in a Blank Story project.
FAQ
How long can an Atlabs video be?
Up to 20 minutes in one project on the Max plan (Plus 10 minutes, Pro 5, Lite 2).
Will my characters change between scenes in a long video?
They stay the same when you set them up in detail at the Cast step and reuse them from the Character Library. Check the storyboard before adding motion to catch any scene that drifts.
Can I make a whole series with the same world?
Yes. Save your characters, locations and objects in episode 1 and pick them from the Character Library in every later episode, with the same visual style.
How many credits does a long video use?
About 80 to 90 credits per minute of finished video without lip sync, and about 120 to 130 with lip sync. You always see the exact cost before you click Generate.
