📝 Script to Video: Full Workflow

Screenplay mode is a structured way to enter a script in Script to Video. Instead of free-form paragraphs, you work scene by scene with locations, actors, shots, and dialogue, giving you film-style control over how each moment is staged. It's ideal for narrative projects, ads with a shot list, and anything that benefits from precise scene structure.

Open screenplay mode

1. In Step 1 of Script to Video, select the "Add your screenplay" tab.
2. Paste or type your screenplay. If Atlabs detects screenplay formatting, it shows "Screenplay Detected" and opens a dedicated, better-formatted view.

💡 Tip: You can also import a screenplay from JSON if you're bringing structure in from another tool.

📝 Work with the screenplay editor

The editor has two panels:

• Left panel: the AI-analysed essentials of your script: the Narrator Voice (Country Accent + a named voice style, e.g. "Maverick, Commanding and Powerful"), Locations, and Actors.
• Right panel: a scene-by-scene breakdown. Each scene shows its Location Type (Exterior/Interior), Location, and Time of Day, and contains individual SHOT descriptions and DIALOGUE blocks (character name, line, and delivery tone).

You can add or remove shots and dialogue within any scene to fine-tune pacing and staging.

🎨 Step 2: Setting the Style

In Step 2, you control how your video looks.

• Select an aspect ratio (9:16, 16:9, or 1:1 with platform icons shown for each).
• Choose a video style: AI Video (recommended for the most creative output), AI Storyboard, or Upload your own media to every scene.
• Select a visual style from the grid. Toggle Custom Styles to define your own visual direction beyond the presets.

👥 Step 3: Finalizing Cast

In Step 3, define the narrator voice and create characters, set locations and objects, that appears consistently throughout the video.

• Select a Country Accent and Narrator Voice from the dropdowns.
• For each auto-detected character, click "Click to Edit" and Save to create AI Characters - you can also change the filled in details: name, age, gender, ethnicity, a detailed visual appearance description (hair, face, build), clothing, and actor voice settings.
• Similarly, click 'Click to Edit' and Save to create AI Locations and Objects - you can also upload your own photo or create with a prompt.
• You can create new characters or objects from scratch, pick from the Characters Library, or
• Upload a reference image of your character and use it throughout the video.

The more detail you provide in Visual Appearance, the more consistent the character will look across scenes. Same, for objects and locations.

💳 Step 4: Generate Options & Credit Costs

Click on the 'Finalise Video' button to choose from three output types.

1. You can generate 'Storyboard' - still images/visuals for the animated video first. (Then, scene-by-scene generate motions and lip-syncs)
2. You can choose 'Preview Video' - generate the first 25 seconds with full motion & lip-sync. (To check if this aligns with your vision)
3. Generate the Full Video with everything end-to-end. (Visuals, Motions, Lip-syncs for all the scenes)

📹 Screenplay to Video: Storyboard Output

Atlabs crafts your characters first ("Crafting your characters…"), then builds a scene around each paragraph with that character appearing consistently. The storyboard has the same layout as Idea to Video, Edit Video, Export, Translate, Music, Captions, and Characters in the top bar. Motion generates in the background if you chose Generate Video.

• If a character looks different across scenes, click Characters in the top bar to reapply consistency.
• If a scene doesn't match its paragraph, edit the image prompt in the Visual tab.
