How do I add motion to the rest of my scenes after a storyboard?

🎬 Add Motion to the Rest of Your Scenes

When you choose Storyboard at Finalise Video, Atlabs creates a still image for every scene and stops there. Once the images look right, Select Scenes to Generate Motion turns them into moving shots in one go: pick the shots, pick a model (or leave it on automatic), and generate.

This works the same way after any workflow (Script to Video, Animated Video, Music Video and others). You'll find the button on the storyboard, under the video preview, whenever some shots still have no motion.

💡 Tip: Fix your images first. Changing a still is much cheaper than regenerating motion later.

  1. Open your story from My Stories. On the storyboard, look under the video preview on the right.
  2. A note tells you how many shots are done, for example, "This is the storyboard, not the final video. Add motion, lip sync to remaining scenes from below."
  3. Click Select Scenes to Generate Motion. The Generate Motion window opens.
  4. Choose your shots:
    • Select All Shots is ticked by default, so every shot without motion is already selected.
    • Untick Select All Shots to clear the list, then tick only the shots you want.
    • Shots marked Motion Generated are already done and can't be selected.

  1. Click Video Model to pick the motion model. Automatic chooses the fastest, best-quality model for your video, or pick one yourself from the list.

  1. Click Resolution to choose the output quality, for example 480p or 720p.

  1. Check the button at the bottom right. It shows the number of shots and the credits needed, for example, Generate Motion (9) · 68.
  2. Click Generate Motion. Atlabs animates every selected shot.

💡 Tip: The credit total updates as you tick and untick shots, or change the model and resolution. Use it to fit the batch to your balance before you generate.

  • One model for the whole batch. The model and resolution you pick here apply to every selected shot. To use a different model or write your own motion prompt for one scene, open that scene's Motion tab instead. See AI Motion.
  • Speaking characters get lip sync. Scenes with a speaking character tagged are generated with motion and lip sync in one pass.
  • You can do it in batches. Generate a few shots first, check the result, then come back for the rest. The button stays on the storyboard until every shot has motion.
  • Your images don't change. Motion is generated from the image each shot already has.

💬 ${color}[rgb(var(--black))](Frequently Asked Questions)

Where is the Select Scenes to Generate Motion button?
On the storyboard, on the right, just below the video preview. If you are inside a scene, click Back to return to the storyboard.

Why can't I tick some shots?
They are marked Motion Generated, which means they already have motion. To redo one, open that scene's Motion tab and generate it again there.

The Generate Motion button is greyed out. Why?
No shot is selected. Tick at least one shot, or tick Select All Shots.

How many credits will it cost?
The total is shown on the Generate Motion button before you confirm. It depends on the number of shots, their length, the model and the resolution.

I chose Preview Video, not Storyboard. Is this the same step?
No. After a preview, you get Select Scenes to Generate Video, which lets you choose between images or the full video for the remaining scenes. See: How do I generate the rest of my scenes after a preview video?
