Your First Project

What you'll do

This guide takes you from a blank project to a finished, exportable video in under 10 minutes, choosing a starting point, generating a storyboard, editing scenes, and exporting.

Step 1: Start a new project

On the Home page, pick a starting point:

  • Idea / Text to Video: fastest, type any idea and get a complete video
  • Script to Video: paste or upload a script for more control
  • Music Video: upload a song and get lyrics mapped to visuals
  • UGC Avatar Video: AI talking-head videos, no camera needed, your AI character is the influencer.
  • Clone Product Ads: turn a product photo into an ad video

Either choice opens the AI wizard, which guides you through the rest.

Step 2: Run the Script & Style wizard

The wizard has three steps:

  1. Script — write your script directly, use Generate Script with AI to create one from an idea, or upload your own screenplay. You can also set the tone and video length here.
  2. Set Style — pick a visual style (Realistic, 3D Cartoon, Anime, Flat 2D Modern, and more), or apply your own AI Style model for a consistent look across videos.
  3. Finalise Cast — define the characters who'll appear. Use a platform AI avatar, build a new character from a description, or use your own AI actor. You can also cast objects and keep them location consistent.

When you're happy, click Finalise Video. Atlabs builds a scene-by-scene draft with AI images, narration, and timestamps.

💡 Tip: The more detail you give a character (hair, clothing, build), the more consistent they'll look from scene to scene.

Step 3: Edit scene by scene

With the video is generated, edit any scene from the left panel:

  • Replace visuals using AI, uploads, or stock media.
  • Adjust voiceover, music, and captions.
  • Add B-roll or captions, set background music, or split a scene.

Step 4: Add motion and lip sync

  • Under the Motion tab, add cinematic motion to your frames. You have 20+ top-tier models to choose from, including Kling, Google Veo, Seedance, Hailuo, Wan, and Runway.
  • Select Lip Sync and apply it to any frame that has a character and voiceover. There are several models like Veed Fabric, Sync 3.0, Kling Avatar and Omnihuman to choose from.

Step 5: Export and share

Click Export in the top-right, then choose:

  • Download Video — a high-quality MP4 to your device.
  • Preview Link — a shareable link for feedback.
  • Premiere Pro — continue editing in Adobe Premiere Pro (available on the Plus plan and above).

🚨 Make sure every scene has finished generating before you export. If Export is greyed out, some motion is still rendering.
