Reposition and Crop Visuals

πŸ“ Reposition & Crop Visuals

Adjust the framing and composition of any scene visual directly from the preview panel. Click on any scene visual in the storyboard to open the editor, then toggle between Current Visual and Full Video in the top right.

Easily adjust the placement and size of your visuals in each frame to fit different screen sizes, focus on key elements, or give your video a polished look. The Reposition & Crop tool is designed to help you fine-tune your visuals without needing external editing tools.

πŸ› οΈ How to Reposition or Crop a Visual

  1. Select the scene you want to edit from the storyboard.
  2. Click on the Visual tab in the left sidebar.
  3. In the right panel, click Crop.
  4. Drag the image/video to reposition it and adjust the zoom level from the bottom bar.
  5. Use the alignment grid to center key subjects or apply the rule of thirds.
  6. Once satisfied, click Close to save your changes.

Repositioning is non-destructive - you can always revert or re-edit later.

πŸ–ΌοΈ When Should I Reposition?

  • Your subject is off-center or cropped awkwardly
  • You're adapting a video for a different format (e.g. 16:9 β†’ 9:16)
  • You want to focus on a specific object or detail
  • You're preparing visuals for social media with unique aspect ratios

✨ What Else You Can Do

The toolbar offers five tools:

  • Crop to adjust the visible area
  • Flip to mirror horizontally
  • Trim to cut the start or end of a motion clip
  • Reverse to play backwards, and
  • Playback to adjust speed.

Use the aspect ratio dropdown (9:16, 16:9, 1:1) to change the frame, and the download icon to save the current visual.

πŸŽ₯ Example Use Case

Let’s say your scene has a wide shot of a cafΓ©. For a vertical story format, you can reposition the frame to focus on the barista rather than showing empty space on either side.

πŸ” Can I Undo a Crop?

Yes! At any time, reopen the Reposition & Crop tool to reset or make new adjustments. Your original media remains intact.
