# How do I generate the rest of my scenes after a preview video?

## 🎬 ${color}[rgb(var(--black))](Finish Your Video After a Preview)

When you choose **Preview Video** at Finalise Video, Atlabs generates only the first 25 seconds with full motion and lip sync, so you can check the look before spending credits on the whole video. The scenes after that are not generated yet: on the storyboard, they appear blurred with a **Generate** button, and that part of the video plays as black.

When you are happy with the preview, click **Select Scenes to Generate Video** and choose how to finish:

| Option | What you get | Best for |
| ---- | ---- | ---- |
| **Video** | Full motion and lip sync for the scenes you select | You like the preview and want the finished video now |
| **Storyboard** | Still images for the scenes you select, to animate later | You want to check or fix every remaining scene before paying for motion |

This works the same way after any workflow (Script to Video, Animated Video, Music Video, and others).

## ${color}[rgb(var(--black))](Steps to generate the rest)

1. Open your story from **My Stories** and watch the preview.
2. Look under the video preview on the right. A note tells you where you stand, for example, **"Previewing 4 of 6 scenes. Generate the full video to see everything."**

3. Click **Select Scenes to Generate Video**. You'll find the same button under your scene cards, in the **"Like what you see?"** box.

4. A window opens with two options at the top. Click the one you want. Each shows its credit cost in the corner:
   * **Video:** Full motion & Lip Sync.
   * **Storyboard:** Still images, animate later.
5. Choose your scenes. Only the scenes that are not generated yet are listed. **All scenes** are ticked by default; untick a scene to leave it out. The counter on the right shows your selection, for example, **2 of 2 selected**.
6. Check the settings at the bottom of the window and click any of them to change it:

1. * **Video** shows **Video Model**, **Resolution** and **Image Model**.
   * **Storyboard** shows **Image Model** only.
   * **Automatic** lets Atlabs pick the best image model for your story.

7. Click **Generate Video** or **Generate Storyboard**. The button and the window title change with the option you picked.
8. Generation takes a few minutes. The note under the preview shows progress until it finishes.

💡 **Tip:** The credit cost on the two cards updates as you tick or untick scenes and change models. Compare the two numbers before you confirm.

### If you chose Storyboard

You now have a still image for every scene, and no motion yet for the new ones.
1. Review each image and fix anything that looks wrong in the scene's **Image** tab.
2. When the images are right, click **Select Scenes to Generate Motion** under the video preview.
3. Keep **Select All Shots** ticked, pick a model, and click **Generate Motion**.

## ${color}[rgb(var(--black))](Video or Storyboard: which should I choose?)

* Choose **Video** when the preview looks right and the video is short. It is the fastest way to a finished video.
* Choose **Storyboard** for longer videos, or when the preview shows something you want to control scene by scene. Images cost far less than motion, so you fix problems while they are cheap.
* Not sure? Generate **A storyboard** first. You can always add motion afterwards, and motion you don't like still costs credits.

## 💬 ${color}[rgb(var(--black))](Frequently Asked Questions)

**Why is my video black after the first 25 seconds?**
Nothing is broken. Preview Video only generates the first 25 seconds. The remaining scenes are waiting for you to generate them with **Select Scenes to Generate Video**.

**Do I pay again for the scenes in the preview?**
No. The preview scenes are already generated and are not in the list. You only select and pay for, the scenes that are left.

**Can I generate only some of the remaining scenes?**
Yes. Untick **All scenes** and tick the ones you want. You can come back for the others later.

**The Storyboard card is greyed out and says "All scenes already have images". Why?**
Every remaining scene already has an image, so there is nothing left for Storyboard to create. Choose **Video** to add motion and lip sync.

**The Generate button is greyed out. Why?**
No scene is selected, or the cost is still being estimated. Tick at least one scene and wait for the credit total to appear.

**Can I get the first 25 seconds as video and the rest as a storyboard in one go?**
Not in a single step at Finalise Video. Choose **Preview Video** first, then pick **Storyboard** here for the remaining scenes.

**I ran out of credits. What now?**
Generate fewer scenes now, or top up and come back. See [How do I top up or buy more credits?](https://help.atlabs.ai/en-us/article/how-do-i-top-up-or-buy-more-credits-co23rz/?bust=1791739510476)
