Animated Video turns any text prompt or script into a fully animated video with AI-generated characters, scenes, and motion. It follows the same 3-step wizard as other Atlabs workflows - the key difference is that the visual style is set to animation by default, giving you stylized output like 3D Cartoon, Flat 2D Modern, Anime, or Storyboard instead of realistic visuals.

AI Animated Video Steps

Step 1: Script

Write or paste your script, or type a prompt and use the AI Script Writer to generate one. You can also pick from Suggested Scripts for inspiration - these rotate when you click the refresh icon. Upload a screenplay file using the "Add your screenplay" tab if you have one formatted already. Set your language from the dropdown and click Next.

Step 2: Set Style

Choose your aspect ratio - 9:16, 16:9, or 1:1 depending on your platform. Then select AI Video as your Video Style (recommended) for full animated video output, or AI Storyboard for image-based scenes with effects. This is where Animated Video differs from Script to Video - the visual style presets here lean toward animation rather than realism. Click Next.

Step 3: Finalize Cast

Set the Country Accent and Narrator Voice for your voiceover. Your characters are auto-detected from the script and displayed as cards with AI-generated animated visuals. Click any character to edit their name, appearance, and voice. Since this is animation, characters will be rendered in whichever animated style you chose in Step 2 - so describe features like hair color, outfit, and expression rather than photorealistic details. Use "Add Character" for additional cast members. The credit cost is shown on the Generate Storyboard button before you confirm.

Generation: After clicking Generate, the platform builds your animated storyboard - you'll see "Assigning Visuals to Scenes" as it works.

Once complete, you land on the storyboard where each scene has an animated visual, narration text, and timestamp. From here you can edit individual scenes, apply motion to bring the animation to life, add lip sync to characters, adjust voiceover and music, and export when ready.

Tips

• Animated Video is ideal for educational content, explainers, kids' content, and storytelling where realistic visuals aren't needed.
• Characters are rendered in the animation style you choose or chosen for the workflow directly - 3D Cartoon gives the most expressive results, while Flat 2D Modern works well for clean, corporate-friendly animation.
• Use Generate Storyboard first to preview how your characters and scenes look before committing to full generation.
